Hi, this is Kevin with kiloWatt studios.
I guess you are here because you want to hear more about me and or my studio.
kiloWatt Studios has very humble beginnings. I started my studio just after I moved to Nashville in 1996. My wife was singing in a local group and they decided that they wanted to record a CD.
I promptly went out and bought what I needed to get their vocals on “tape” (actually, at the time, it was ADAT).
I set up shop in our extra bedroom in our apartment. I ran cables into our walk-in closet (which was PERFECT because it was full of clothes… just enough room for one singer) and I started recording soon after that.
After this recording (and just a few more after that) I decided to upgrade my studio to a Yamaha 02-R… the biggest bang for the buck.
At the same time, I rented some office space in the Young Building on Demonbreun on Nashville’s Music Row area where I stayed for the next 4 years.
A few years later, I decided to apply the rent that I was paying “on the row” to a house mortgage and moved just outside of Nashville to the booming little city of Murfreesboro, TN.
I’ve been in Murfreesboro since March of 2001 and have been busy ever since.
I specialize in Vocal Production and Mixing and Teaching others how to mix.
